Injustice and Bigotry At Its Best.

Wow. Once again, there is animosity that is flaring up on my blog. It just goes to show you that people are not truly citizens of the world…that there is still much hatred and pointing fingers between different countries. Or in this case most recently, countries pointing at us in hatred.
I think Doug has a good point. Use your power and bitch to the UN. If so many countries feel this way about the US, then band together and do something about it and stop complaining. If we’re going to have to be responsible for the officials that we elected, regardless of whether some of us elected them, you certainly have to be responsible for the officials you elected who are in bed with ours.
South Africa: Who said America was fair? Life isn’t fair; I’m sure everyone can agree. Unfair trials have been going on for years. Does that mean it is right? No. But you ‘opining’ about how quick we are to judge is right ‘back at ya’ when you admit that you are doing the same in your country to the blacks. We could keep going back and forth until we’re blue in the face. When you’re pointing out one finger at the perpetrator, how many fingers are pointing back at you? No one is innocent here. We have proven that we have a long way to go as a world society.
As far as O.J. is concerned, and writing about it on my blog…why the attack Lashkar Gah? Quick to comment on your men being cruel to you? I think not. Your men are cruel to you daily. I could’ve written about this years ago but I didn’t have this blog then….so sorry. I could write about it daily and I still would be too slow to get it out there.
You know as well as any other readers that I am pretty current when it comes to my blog, or at least I try my best to be. O.J. has been on my mind, and I have been reading and checking my sources in preparation of this write. I was planning on blogging about it today, Monday. Is that okay with you?
Okay, I don’t want to get heated like some of you are…So…onto the topic.
Doug and I went out to dinner last night with Elliot and Tracey and of course I wanted to ask Elliot what his thoughts were about O.J. and the recent trial. If you remember awhile back, I had blogged about a book that Elliot had given us, and a movie that he was promoting based on the innocence of O.J. For you newbie readers, the article that I blogged will tell you more about the movie. However, you might be especially interested in reading comment #6 from Tal our resident alien. He offered some very enligtening information about the murders that only few people would ever know.
Anyway, and like all of you readers that have commented, we all agreed that the trial was totally unfair. I mean how could you not think that? An all white trial! I mean really…a perfect jury for the prosecution. It was not possible to have a verdict other than ‘guilty’. The prosecution won the moment the jury was chosen. I don’t care how much one tries to find an unbiased jury, if you aren’t going to mix it up racially there is going to be bias and racism present. And the verdict proves there clearly was. If this was a white man on trial with an entire black jury, it would never fly. People would be screaming. But with O.J.: Totally acceptable. This is injustice and bigotry at its best.
There is no doubt in my mind that he did not have a fair trial. I mean to find him guilty on EVERY account; all 15! Come on….these jurors are bigots. They, like many people out there, wanted him convicted. All they can remember is the trial 13 years ago. For years they have believed from the get go that he was guilty. Forget that he went to trial. Forget that there wasn’t any evidence to prove that he was guilty. He did not ‘get off’; O.J. was acquitted! But people already had made up there minds long ago and for years they have been waiting for this moment to convict him. And as Spain pointed out, ‘This was an old fashioned lynching.’ I agree. These jurors are all just feeling quite smug knowing that no one else could convict O.J., and they did.
For months now I have had the idea of having a guest blogger write on my blog. I have never invited anyone but after speaking with Elliot last night I thought he would be an excellent person to add to the mix here today. Elliot was glued to the media when it came to the O.J. trial. He has always felt that O.J. was innocent and has for years been expressing his thoughts. When he discovered that Doug and I felt the same way, our common interest engaged us all in some interesting conversation.
So last night I asked Elliot to write something up…thoughts that he would want to share with you. Elliot is a local writer, a film instructor, and a good friend of ours. So here it is:
Back in February of this year there were a number of comments made on this site regarding O.J. Simpson’s original 1995 murder trial. The comments sprang forth as a result of a then current documentary film called THE OVERLOOKED SUSPECT. In that film (as well as the book that inspired it) author / private investigator William Dear proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that O. J. Simpson did not—repeat, DID NOT—kill Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Mr. Dear doesn’t merely speculate this assertion, but provides shocking, hard evidence (the result of a painstaking, twelve year investigation) that proves conclusively that the actual killer was Jason Simpson, O. J.’s tremendously troubled (then) 24-year-old son from his first marriage. Jason’s motives were complicated and tinged with tragic implications worthy of Shakespeare: O. J. willingly stood trial for a pair of crimes he knew his son had committed. The fact that he was acquitted of thesecrimes in a court of law somehow eluded the American public and for the past thirteen years the vast majority of white America has clung to the belief that O. J. is a vicious, cold-blooded murderer. It has been nearly impossible to find anyone who believes otherwise. Unless of course they either read William Dear’s book or saw the film. And sadly, very few people have because very few people care to have their belief systems overturned.
Now, thirteen years to the day later, O.J. Simpson has been found guilty of no fewer than twelve felony counts including kidnapping, robbery and coercion (all with a deadly weapon) stemming from an incident in Las Vegas in September 2007. The Goldmans (family members of Ron Goldman) are already gloating over the fact that their ongoing harassment of Simpson actually led him to commit the Las Vegas crimes leaving open the suspicion that they might have been party to a blatant set-up that virtually assured an arrest. O. J. will be sentenced on December 5 and could very likely be put away for life. Millions of white Americans will deliriously claim that justice has been served and that a deranged murderer will finally get what he deserves. The sad truth is that an innocent man has most likely been set-up (literally) by bloodthirsty, vindictive ghouls determined to satisfy their own sick desires. This is a shameful moment of which no one should feel the slightest bit proud. We live in a nation that supports the suppression of truth and encourages hatred against minority races and the Simpson saga is ample proof of this.
It’s time for people to put aside their preconceived notions and acknowledge the truth about O.J. Simpson. For clarification on the 1994 killings, I seriously recommend obtaining a copy of William Dear’s book O. J. IS GUILTY BUT NOT OF MURDER or watching the film based on it, THE OVERLOOKED SUSPECT. Information can be found at www.theoverlookedsuspect.com .
Well said Elliot! The one thing I never thought of in this case was that the Goldman family could be behind the set up as Elliot pointed out. Did that occur to any of you out there? It looks like they finally got their payback.
I have to say that I truly feel sorry for O.J. And I doubt that I am the majority here. It was not enough to convict him in their minds even though he was acquitted of murder. It was not enough that he has had to live with many people feeling that he ‘got off’ and he should be in jail. No they had to convict him by giving him an unfair trail with a jury that had made their minds up 13 years ago.
Thanks Elliot for sharing your mind!
Readers: I have heard of from some of you already. Anyone else? Blog me.
Hey Anonz: I just saw your comment – will read later…I am running late and I must post.
Peace everyone.
Gratefully your blog host,
